A merge field can be added to any custom letter using the {mergeField} format. Each custom field in your Custom Forms database has a code.

Here is a list of System Fields that can be used as merge fields in your custom letters:

Library Fields
{bookTitle}	The title of the book
{author}	The author of the book
{dueDate}	The due date of the book
{overdueBooks}	SHOWS AS A TABLE List of all overdue books
{onLoanBooks}	SHOWS AS A TABLE List of all books currently on loan
